Well, the best thing about the Sukiyaki Dinner, is not the beef.
Its whom you dine with. I am lucky enough to have dinner with a local Japanese girl in Kyoto. It could be one of my top ten life time personal achievement right there.
Hmm ..., btw its not the woman in the picture. She's the waitress and the cook, in case you wonder. :-)

“手 塚 治 虫 於 一 九 二 八 年 十 一 月 三 日 出 生 於 大 阪 府 豐 能 郡 豐 中 町 ， 是 家 中 的 長 男 。 五 一 年 從 大 阪 大 學 醫 學 專 門 部 畢 業 後 ， 次 年 便 通 過 醫 師 國 家 考 試 ， 六 一 年 於 奈 良 縣 立 醫 科 大 學 獲 得 醫 學 博 士 ， 八 九 年 因 胃 癌 去 世 ， 享 年 六 十 歲 。
手 塚 治 虫 被 視 為 日 本 漫 畫 之 父 ， 很 年 輕 就 展 現 出 漫 畫 的 才 能 ， 小 學 時 就 愛 塗 塗 畫 畫 ， 因 為 中 學 上 的 是 美 術 班 ， 加 上 熱 愛 動 物 昆 蟲 ， 十 五 六 歲 就 在 同 好 會 裡 出 版 生 物 圖 鑑 ， 而 在 十 八 歲 出 版 他 的 漫 畫 處 女 作 ， 從 此 展 開 他 數 百 部 作 品 （ 動 畫 、 漫 畫 ） 的 燦 爛 生 涯 。
由 於 身 處 日 本 漫 畫 的 草 創 發 展 期 ， 手 塚 治 虫 的 作 品 例 如 《 原 子 小 金 剛 》 、 《 森 林 大 帝 》 、 《 海 王 子 》 、 《 三 眼 神 童 》 … … 不 僅 豐 富 了 當 時 日 本 少 年 與 兒 童 的 心 靈 ， 更 為 後 來 的 漫 畫 家 開 創 了 許 多 漫 畫 的 典 範 。 而 他 的 《 緞 帶 騎 士 》 （ 《 寶 馬 王 子 》 ） 更 吸 收 寶 塚 劇 場 的 特 色 ， 塑 造 了 日 本 少 女 漫 畫 的 類 型 。 《 阿 波 羅 之 歌 》 更 以 激 情 畫 面 試 圖 開 闢 出 成 人 漫 畫 的 領 域 。
手 塚 治 虫 因 為 熱 愛 迪 士 尼 的 卡 通 ， 了 解 未 來 是 屬 於 動 畫 的 時 代 ， 於 是 創 建 了 「 虫 動 畫 」 公 司 ， 試 圖 創 造 出 屬 於 日 本 特 色 的 動 畫 。 後 來 雖 然 他 因 藝 術 家 性 格 致 使 公 司 經 營 不 善 ， 但 他 遠 大 的 眼 光 不 但 刺 激 了 其 他 的 公 司 ， 也 培 養 了 日 本 現 在 許 多 的 動 畫 人 才 ， 像 大 師 宮 崎 駿 、 高 佃 勳 都 曾 受 過 他 的 教 誨 。”

由京都往東京的新幹線需要三小時,待在煙霧迷漫的車廂中,看書不成,睡覺也不是,實在是百無聊賴。一個不長不短的旅程,需要差不多千三元港幣,我的現金還差點不夠,其實自動售票機也接受信用card附款,不過我永遠記不下信用card的密碼,只好作罷。售票機有英文顯示,操作簡單。我是約早上九時出發,班次頻密,差不多每十分鐘便有一班往東京的列車。主要有分劃位和非劃位兩種車票,分吸煙和非吸煙車廂。
到達車站時,已經差不多8時40分,立即購買了46分的車票,其實有點不自量力,一方面要在最短的時間內去了解售票的運作過程,另外又要把零錢湊夠。還要找出正確的月台位置,狼狽地把行李連拖帶拉地衝到電梯上。唉…結果仍是趕不上,在月台上目送列車離開。幸好不需要補票,在下一班的列車,一號至三號廂是非劃位區,可隨便選空位坐。
京都的車站好像落成不久,建築新穎,連接購物商埸,酒店,電影院。旁邊還有一個漫畫迷必到的手塚治虫紀念館。出發前預多一點時間,購物觀光,還是一個不錯的地方。
