Amazing Race: Lesson #1

Amazing race 一直在在冬冬的blog都有介紹和comment, season 6一開始便重拾這種分秒必爭的感覺。十二隊參賽隊伍,二人成一組,每集包尾的隊伍會被淘汰。這遊戲的設計可說是智力與體力的配合,年輕力壯未必羸硬,年紀較大的,雖輸了體力,但亦非一定遭eliminate。

第一集我便即跌眼鏡,兩名成年男子首先被幹掉。

Mistake #1, too many variation factors. 選擇了湖上尋寶而非爬冰山。尋寶遊戲變數太多,很難拿扭時間。我認為遊戲初段,最緊要夠穩陣。上冰山雖然消耗體力,但有可預見的完成目標,而大海茫茫去尋寶絕對要靠運氣。結果這場遊戲令他們便由領先變成包尾。

Mistake#2是沒有alliance,我覺得如果跟大隊走,起碼唔會包尾。這遊戲的side objective是暴露整個decision making process的後果,當真一子錯、滿盤皆落索。兩次的critical mistake都是由四眼仔出錯主意,第一次是選尋寶,第二次是去錯終點仍不信任他人。Take risk太大,就越容易死得慘。當然,若成功又是別論,做人同玩遊戲差不了多少。

記憶中父子兵或父女兵上陣都是最先出局隊伍之一,這次其中一隊老豆係退伍CIA,但臨尾都好似唔係好掂…結果尾二,希望他們下集好運啦。

One thing I learnt from watching past seasons: when choosing between two tasks, if one of them involves searching for something, ALWAYS pick the other task!!! :D
